Welcome to my practice! We are a 501(c)(3) organization that provides counseling and educational enrichment programs to children and families. Our mission is to improve the emotional and intellectual competency of at-risk youth and their families.
I have given much thought to the development of my personal counseling philosophy. Although I appreciate and utilize a variety of counseling techniques, it is my belief that in order to help the client find the "truth", a counselor must use the approach that best fits the client. Counseling is very practical and must involve the whole person. Learning to identify the causes of the problem is a key ingredient in the process of arriving to a satisfactory solution. As such, choosing a counselor whom the client can develop a quality therapeutic relationship is especially important to the counseling experience. In addition, having shared beliefs and values contribute to the level of trust and confidence a client will have with his/her therapist.
